Residential Support Workers

The most important quality we look for is a desire to bring about a positive change in the lives of children.

You will be required to create a safe environment for each child, as well as encouraging and supporting them to get the most out of their education, hobbies, and family or social relationships.

Family meals are cooked and shared every day, and there are domestic tasks to create a homely environment.

You need to be able to engage with children, guiding them and acting as a positive role model.

It can be challenging at times, but thorough training is provided and there is always support from the home’s staff and management team.

Children Support Worker, Location: Nottingham (NG5 / NG7 / NG11)

Role:

We currently have several exciting vacancies available in our Nottingham children’s homes where the Care Support Workers will be required to provide the highest quality care to children between the ages of 8 – 17 years with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBD)

• We are looking for dynamic youth mentors who have a desire to engage, guide and bring a positive influence in the lives of young people in our care.

• You will be required to create a positive environment for each young person with particular reference to his/her safety, health and education.

• You will be required to maintain good professional practices in accordance with Ofsted regulations and
quality care standards for our children’s homes.

Training and QCF qualifications will be provided, but the most important quality we are looking for is a commitment
and desire to bring about a positive change in the lives of young people.

Senior Residential Support Workers

Not only will you need to be an inspiring role model for children, but you will need to  demonstrate leadership for your colleagues.

Seniors will be responsible for leading shifts, delegating tasks and completing paperwork.

We are looking for experienced staff who have the knowledge and qualifications to demonstrate their commitment to providing the highest quality care to the children and young people in our homes.

Deputy Managers

Arguably one of the most diverse roles in our children’s homes.

As a Deputy you will need to be as effective at caring for children as you are at supporting with paperwork and taking more strategic view of the home in order to support the homes manager. You will assist in overseeing, instructing and guiding the staff team.

Deputies will work shifts in the home, as well as undertaking administrative and paperwork tasks. This could include planning rotas, completing staff supervisions, assisting in recruitment or the assessment of referrals for new children.

A real willingness to get stuck in, and be instrumental in all aspects of the home life is really important.

Registered Homes Managers

You will be steering the home to meet our mission statement by ensuring the children have opportunities for education as well as enjoyment. They should feel safe, and encouraged to develop caring relationships. Together we want to achieve exceptional outcomes for children.

In order to do this you will be recruiting, developing and coaching the staff team. You will be assessing and arranging appropriate referrals for new children.

You will need to be a great communicator, connecting with young people and their families, the staff team, the wider company as well as key external stake holders in education, local authorities and social care.

You will take overall responsibility for the home’s operation, as well as the care and therapy for our children.

We provide development and training opportunities, as well as mentoring and support from Regional and Operations Management.

Current Vacancies:

Registered Residential Children’s Home Manager, Location: Northamptonshire (NN7)

Salary: Upto £40,000 p.a dependent on experience and qualifications

Bonus payments: Upto £2,500 p.a where qualifying criteria is met, plus on-call allowance

Contract: Full time, permanent

Role:

We are recruiting a Registered Home Manager for an established 3 bed EMB home in Northamptonshire. This
position presents a great opening for an experienced deputy manager to step up to the registered manager role, or
for an experienced registered manager to take on a new opportunity.

What We Can Offer You:

  • Bonus payments in addition to the base salary. Salary scale is £32,000 to £40,000 p.a. dependent on
    qualifications and experience, plus upto £3,500 p.a in bonuses.
  • Working week of 40hrs (9:00am-5:00pm)
    Smaller homes, upto 4 bed, with a ‘family’ focus
  • In house Drama Therapist working with young people and staff
  • E-learning and in person training, as well as access to personal and professional development Level 2
    courses (such as IT skills, counselling skills, etc)
  • Excellent prospects for internal development and promotion
  • 6 month probation period, with good induction and support package
  • Annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks (maximum of 28 days)

About You

Candidates should:

  • Have experience as either a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in a Residential Children’s Home.
  • Experience of working to Ofsted guidance and, where possible, 2 Ofsted sequential "Good" ratings.
  • The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare / For Level 5- QCF Level
    5 Children and Young People's Families Manager Residential or equivalent – or be willing to work
    towards this qualification as a priority.
  • Varied experience working in a Children’s residential care setting.
  • Be over 22 years old.
  • Have a full UK manual driving licence.
  • Be willing to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure.
  • Be eligible to work in the UK.

About the Role:

The Registered Residential Children’s Home Manager’s role is to take responsibility for the management of
the residential home.
This will include, but is not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Processing and response to all local authority referrals, arranging admission of suitable young people.
  • Ensures that all young people’s plans are in place, and monitor’s achievements.
  • Allocation of keyworkers.
  • Provides direct care and supervision as required within the Home.
  • Works positively with families and others involved with the young people.
  • Directs and coordinates the care and therapy for each young person to ensure that their personal
    targets are met.
  • Responsible for the financial expenditure and budget of the home.
  • Ensure that appropriately qualified and experienced staff are recruited and that staffing meets the
    standards and levels set out in the Registration document.
  • Responsible for all mandatory and vocational training and qualification for the Home’s staff.
  • Develops and maintains systems of delegation and review in order to promote teamwork and communication. Provides regular staff supervision and review.
  • Ensure that the Home is constantly being improved and developed to achieve excellent Ofsted moutcomes.
  • Ensures that all care, financial and administrative records are maintained in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensures that all young people’s financial affairs are administered strictly in accordance with company policies.
  • Assists in the On-Call rota.
